Braveheart Bio Promotes CSO, Names New SVP

Marc Evanchik will be elevated to Chief Scientific Officer, while Brittany de Temple joins as Senior Vice President of Development Operations.

Braveheart Bio is naming Marc Evanchik Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and appointing Brittany de Temple Senior Vice President (SVP).

de Temple is joining the clinical-stage biotechnology company as SVP of Development Operations. Evanchik was previously Braveheart Bio’s SVP of Pharmacology and Translational Medicine.

In announcing these moves, the company said they advance its capabilities in preparation of initiating a Phase III clinical trial. This global trial concerns BHB-1893, a next-generation therapeutic for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM).

CSO Shares His Experience

Having just launched in November 2025, Braveheart Bio specializes in novel therapeutics for HCM and other, related cardiovascular conditions. Commenting on his promotion, Evanchik said he has been fortunate to be part of the “evolution” of new HCM treatments.

His expanded responsibilities as CSO include managing a growing team of experienced researchers and developers.

“From managing symptoms to restoring more normal cardiac function and performance, [it] has been a career defining journey,” Evanchik said.

Future Goals for Braveheart Bio

He continued by specifying that Braveheart’s focus is on the precise molecular drivers of cardiac hypercontractility.

“Braveheart aims to not just treat a condition, but fundamentally alter the disease trajectory for patients,” Evanchik said. “Our potentially best-in-class asset may offer delivery that’s easier for patients to use and integrate into their daily lives.”

Evanchik’s prior work includes stints at MyoKardia and Edgewise Therapeutics. Meanwhile, de Temple’s resume includes Akero Therapeutics, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, and IQVIA.

Braveheart Bio CEO Travis Murdoch, MD, said de Temple’s appointment is crucial to the planned Phase III entry for BHB-1893.

“Brittany’s extensive experience with successfully standing up and advancing late-stage clinical development programs will be invaluable,” Murdoch said. “We continue to build a world-class senior leadership team to effectively scale our operations and deliver on our mission.”
